LMAO if you had actually been on this forum for more than 10 seconds and watched virtually every gear thread about any type of gear turn into a "Pentax needs a FF" thread you would have been laughing. It's the internet and it's April 1st. lots of stuff today won't be true get over it

FF will come BTW it's just a matter of time

Exactly. From now on, what they say on April 1st will not be trusted!

I fell for it. I admit it.
But folks need to lighten up.
If you can't find humor in life then what.
Kudos to PF for making me laugh.

Note who didn't like the spoof. Note how many (few) posts they've made. Someone else here noticed that the no-sensa-humor folks are mostly first-timers. Feh. Maybe we're better off without them.

I'm reminded of my days working in a big corporate software shop north of San Francisco. We'd get new recruits, programmers and analysts who flew in from Back East. First thing, we'd take them to lunch at a local Moroccan restaurant where all patrons sat on the floor and ate with their fingers. About half of the new-hires were never seen again -- no-sensa-humor.

I'm all for a good April days fool joke.

However, this one wasn't executed too well, I didn't have the same good laugh I had when reading about the NEX-7x here:

-> Google Translate

(don't miss the section about the technical data, it is best)

The K-3 joke missed the subtle hints except that the body was the K-5. Not in a world where hundred of thousands D800 are on preorder.

It is no good sign that now the very idea of a Pentax FF camera qualifies as joke.

It is no good sign that a straight announcement on a respected site of a Pentax FF seriously can only be a joke. Not in a world with more than hundred thousand D800 on preorder.

funny link falk
I like
Continuos shooting - Yes Very Much LMAO
and
99 frames/sec in BMP format LOL

in general the specs are very funny.

and yep maybe if there were a couple of over the top features people would have been less upset

I doubt it though largely it speaks to how little sense of humour people have.

Like many I desire a FF camera, but I'm not so humourless not to have got the joke. If Ff was needed for what i do I likely would be running a second system like many here do

It really does show that ricoh needs to get serious on this though

On the 'K3' announcement

Really thought this was serious (something worth changing systems for)..then..

Pentax has enough of a problem being taken seriously.

It's not funny. Reinforces perception that the Pentax brand is not for professionals.

Pathetic
With 5 children in our home, needless to say, April 1'st does not go unnoticed here.
Having said that, if it were me, not only would I have Photoshopped a much more realistic camera, but I would have also added terrifying statements like, I've been testing one for the past 2 weeks and its 10x better than any D800 and better than anything else I've worked with to date typa stuff. (good times, good times...)

Well I think Adam should tell us, it was a joke! April the first is over!
I found the original pic of a k-5 silver on "http://www.longlenses.de/2011/02/pentax-k-5-silver-edition-vorgestellt" and if you look at the light reflections it should be the same picture.

Letīs make a poster with a picture with a Pantax FF and the text on it "I want to belive".
Porpably many would buy it ...

Actually, for an article in preparation, I created the following image showing a Nikon FF with Pentax DNA.

(Note, I enlarged the K-5 by exactly the amount I felt was required to accomodate a larger mirror, sensor, prism and AF).

If I cared I'd wonder how many of the folks howling for a FF Pentax can articulate why they think they need a FF Pentax. But I don't, so I don't.

I highlighted a part of your post that I think is particularly relevant.

need and want are 2 different things lol.

I don't need a FF doesn't mean I don't want a Ff

Given guys like benjikan can produce what they do on even the lowest level gear it's obvious that I don't "need" a FF. I need more talent but I can't buy that

Any guesses as to who has created a new account just to complain about a joke?

In my mind the initial post read

"I was totally taken in and now feel a bit stupid, so I want to get annoyed at someone, but I also know that to do so is irrational, so I will let off steam under a different identity"

is that just me?
