Canon as the last MILC player?

Should we believe that Canon is finally joining the MILC/EVIL party? Seems 2012 is going to be an exciting year for every photographer for a different reason.

They've got the DSLR market covered fairly well this year- I wouldn't expect them to join the party until next year. Someone needs to invent a better AF mechanism for MILC so we can do away with CDAF - I don't think they'll be a big hit until then.

Nikon doesn't have a long term MILC either. I don't expect the Nikon 1 system to take off. I think Nikon coming with their 1 system is more disappointing than not coming up with anything at all. I am also pretty sure that Canon would have no challenge whipping up a K-01 in a few months of development (that black tape works magic

). Seriously though, if Canon wants to play, they'll play. Like Nikon, they are trying to avoid the issue by putting out stuff like the G1X.
