That, with all the gold 24mp=24karat? hmmmmm...... (though would that level of purity make it soft?)

anyways, an upgrade to the 645D that would take Pentax farther from the D800 and more in-line with Leaf and the bigger big boys, and an LX-D will (as a system) challenge the features-rich offers of Canikon. I just wonder if Ricoh has enough cash and determination to take on two gargantuan fields at the same time~

With a 24 karat, shell it should hold its value even if it dies.

I would guess that the 645D upgrade has been in the works for quite a while, it wouldn't make sense to release a camera like that with no upgrade plan.

I agree. And it might even be delayed further due to the D800's release - it should have something so good it will once more separate 135 digital vs. 645 digital.
