Predict Pentax Photokina Announcements

- K-5n, update to the K-5 with 16mp, new AF-module and PRIME M processor.
- Pentax FA645 90mm/f2.4
- New lens for Q (macro or tele)
- 560mm/f5.6 telelens, but still not ready.
- DA 18-200mm WR lens.
- K-1 FF camera in a closed glass kabinet, not allowed to touch, since it is still an empty case.

Not too much at the time.

Ohh, a macro AND a tele for the Q would be excellent news - I'd order one of each in a heartbeat.

- K-1NG (aka the King) - 36MP FF Body
- K-02 - 24MP FF Mirrorless in K-01 body with 2nd control dial and EVF
- K-3 - 24MP version of K-5 with tilt-screen, dual card slots, dual M Prime and WiFi
- Q2 - Updated Q with Sony's new 1" sensor
- Updated FA 28-70 2.8
- Updated FA 80-200 2.8
- All FF items to be available Q1 2013

It would be nice, i think the K3 actually looks realistic except for the swivel screen
and I don't think Q lenses can cover the 1" sensor Image circle unfortunately
other than that i'd vote for this (doubt the 2 FF will happen though or the 36mp but it is a nice dream

)

They will skip the FF battle and release another medium format camera, probably a cheaper dumbed-down version of the 645D.

They body could include an adaptor like the Canon EOS M, to allow use of either 645 lenses or DA and FA lenses. They would also have a funky mirror flip mechanism to deal with it.

I think the 645D will become the dumbed down version actually (if they can secure sensor supply) . drop it's price and release a new one with dual m processors, and a 50+mp cmos sensor for the better model

Hope:
- K5n APS-C
- a digital LX as a FF camera, to be released 2013 Q1
- some new lenses complementary to the 31 - 43 - 77 (around 24 and 120, say 23 and 119 ;-)
- some new lenses for the Q, esp. longer ones
- a newer D645 version

Expect:
- a K5N successor
- some more WR lenses
- grounds for more speculation...

Fear:
- not much coming from Pentax

I predict that people are gonna need psychological therapy from all this predicting - at least until they can find something else to obsess on ASAP after Photokina.

I predict the release of:
K5r (interim K-5 replacement) with possible 16 or 24MP sensor
K-01x Souped up K-01 (articulated screen, EVF, 24MP sensor, WR)

Announce OR release of:
LXD Limited Edition FF with NEW matching D-FA LTD lenses (Silver) (36MP)
K-10 Mirrorless FF mock-up
