I would prefer a flip-out LCD (similar to Sony Nex), as I think it makes it easier to hold the camera when taking a shot with camera at waist-level?
Will not left side-hinged LCD interfer with left arm holding lens (/camera)?

Lars
I have a Canon G12 with a left side hinged LCD, and it's very useful, especially for holding the camera overhead or at waist level - the LCD does not interfere with the left hand at all, although when holding it overhead one tends to use only the right hand anyway.

If they continue the recent trend... more stylish cameras that are easy to use but very capable... at an affordable price.
I think that with Pentax jumping late on the digital band wagon they missed the importunity to be one of the big players... been chasing them for years, so they are going for the trendy group who love a great looking camera, and wants it easy to use but also capable of growing as their talent does.
just have to look at the K01 and the K30 with different colors to have a look into the crystal ball (just an opinion of course)

thanks

Agreed. But no more slow pancakes. Bring back the great lenses updated for digital:

20/2.8, 85/1.4, 28-80/2.8, 80-200/2.8, 400/5.6. Update DA*16-50.

Unfortunately, its not going to happen. Instead we'll see something even more whackier than the Q and K-01.

Why would you say that!? First of all, the Q is not whacky. It's a very useful tool. It didn't need that many ressources in R&D.

Hoya is now gone. Ricoh, however, wants to do things right.

Neither of those cameras are whacky; they are both either class leading or class defining.
If that's whacky I'm all for it.

That roadmap was put together with Hoya halfway out and Ricoh halfway in. I wouldn't consider it to be final.

All roadmaps are subject to revision, so we can certainly expect to see changes to this one. I would expect additions this time as well.

Well I use the K-01 and that is a nice camera once the limitations are left behind and use the camera for the things it can do very well!

The thing I don't get is that you think that the difference between a 21mm/f3.2 Ltd and a 20mm/f2.8 are so uge that we need the extra lens? (unless it is for FF).

Agreed if it's apsc lens no need for the 20, but a FF 20 2.8 would be nice -(faster would be even nicer IMO Sigma for instance has the reasonably priced 20 f1.8 ex dg @ 629 a bit big and heavy but a nice lens)

I like all the FF predictions.... as sensor price continue to drop, I really think Pentax FF is not far away.
Q, K-01, K5 both due for a upgrade. But most likely K5 replacement will announce there.
My hope is a further pump in the high ISO range, with clean iso up to 6400, 51200 iso is actually usable. FF is even better.

For lens, the DA* 1x-xx lens on the lens roadmap prototype shown, and the 560mm lens available date announce.

I will save my money for the K5 replacement (and the DA* lens), it should be awesome, but please don't announce a K5-super.

Let's go Pentax!
