My Little Pentax Prediction

I can smell a new Pentax DSLR using a 24.3 megapixel sensor and a new proprietary Pentax software algorithm, improved auto focus and video functions...etc.

How big is that sensor, or can't you smell it yet?

It's pretty obvious that it smells like APS-C.
But I also think that it may be better than any 24mp APS-C we've seen so far, even beating the K-5 on both DR (may we hope for ISO 50?) and high iso. If you add better video and better AF, you end up with a camera that's everything the K-5 is, just more of it - what's not to like about that?

I would think that it smells like it might out resolve most of the 24.3 megapixel camera's available out there. But then again, what do I know?

I think that is exactly what we are wondering
Sounds good though. And plausible, unlike some other predictions on these forums.

You are smelling what I've been hoping for from Pentax, a solid follow on to the K-5.

I suspect Ben has his nose to the ground.
And the aroma is pleasant.

This is the most sensible prediction not a dream or wish.

I could see that happening. My wife recently got a Q. The image quality Pentax was able to wring out of that tiny sensor is pretty amazing. If they could do the same thing with a larger sensor with twice the megapizels (even if it is APS-C)...while keeping all the good stuff of the K5...they might have another winner on their hands.

Ben, remember to remove the EXIF data from the pictures by the beta tested camera!

But it sounds like an improved APS-C camera - just like the sources that I trust the most have said. Sorry folks, no FF. At least not this year.

I don't think anyone seriously thought it would be this year. An announcement on the other hand....
