Kodak Colour film Reprieve

looks like we can count on at least 3 more years of being able to get Kodak colour films. they've signed a contract to supply film to 4 big studios for movies, so we can still count on volumes being high enough to make the film we shoot since hey are reliant on the film business for survival

Yep Fuji also supplies a fair bit of film to the industry. (if you are a movie geek like me and watch all the credits it'll come up near the end )

Both Companies though have been rationalizing the consumer film side a fair bit due to the lower volumes. The movie industry volume is what is keeping the colour stock viable from the big guys (Colour film both neg and slide is a considerably more complex manufacturing process than B/W and needs the larger runs to keep price reasonable) So far there are few good quality Colour films not coming from these 2 players (Rollei has launched a c41 but I haven't tried it)

It won't be long though before the movie industry abandons film for the most part. Big chunks of many productions are now Digital Arriflex etc, Panavision no longer makes a film body. Theaters that haven't retrofitted to accept the new digital projection are having issues getting newer films since not all films are even printed now for distribution.

Rollei has a C41 film? I wan't aware of it. Apart from Fuji and Kodak, there aren't many colour film producers. I like B&W, but I like colour too, perhaps more so, I would hate to have to rely on digital for colour photos.

3 of them now. 2 aimed at the toy camera crowd (redbird 400 iso and nightbird 800 iso - both rolled backwards to screw up results intentionally ugh) and this one Rollei Digibase CR 200 = Agfachrome RSX II 200 emulsion on clear colourless PET base

Rollei Digibase CN200 Pro (C-41 Process) 35mm x 36 exposure - 2 roll Pack | Freestyle Photographic Supplies

Edit

If you go to the rollei film product page they list a ton of stuff - not all easily got in north america though
