I spent the last 18 years studying and/or living in and/or working in China/Asia. I will have to tell you about my first trip to China sometime...

I speak/read/write Chinese (Mandarin) by the way... not bad for a white boy.

Pretty cool photos, thanks for sharing.

Though during that time it was pretty much controlled by Britain and other Western powers, so it really wasn't "Imperial Rule" by that time. By the time the photos were taken Britain had been force feeding China with opium for over a hundred years and taken everything they had.
