I've managed to convice a Work colleague to Move to Pentax DLSR

Whilst showing my photos to a colleague of mine , he commented that he is after purchase of a DSLR camera platform and wanted to know what camera I shoot with.I told him that I shoot with Pentax K5 and he was really impressed so I managed to talk him into buying a K30. when I showed him the going price he was even more impressed and further commented on it's low price and affordability, he asked me what Kit lens and I recommended the Da18-135 . he seems to really liked the Blue K30 and i think he might be going for it.. I might even manage to convice him to join the Forum...

Great Job! Pentax realy does have a lot to offer when you sit down and look at the evidence.

I did the same for a friend recently with a K-01, and he loves it. Great cameras for the money.

Good call also on the 18-135.

I shot some senior pics this weekend for a 17 year old who has no money..............she borrowed the clothes and her foster mom brought her to the location. I was going to use my 70mm Ltd, but since we were walking all over the place, I decided to use my 18-135 and found it perfect for moving in and out and shooting her from varying distances..........the lens worked great.

I'll post a few below...........you'll see one was PP to look more formal

great pictures GDroth , specially the last one .

I even logged into ebay and showed him the prices of old pentax glass and he couldn't believe the backward compatability of pentax and the availability of such old wonderful glass still up until today.

Pentax has a lot to offer " I agree" , I believe their marketting strategy leaves a lot to be desired.

Thanks Disco Owner..............I think the K5 and the lens offerings are very strong when you look at the results they deliver.

Did my first in this new initiative tonight! Let me post up a photo! Hold on a sec... and go easy... I'm on elective right now and don't have any of my flash gear... or post tools with me.... eck. I did find a natural light reservoir and and a somewhat natural reflector for this shot though.

Ive almost sold a K-30 to a buddy as well! Everybody that has seen/handled my K-5 + Limiteds (Nikon D7000 and Canon 60D users) have all been impressed/envious

I own a 60D and a few Pentax cameras. I am totally biased, since I have been using Pentax for 12 years, but I think Pentax's ergonomics destroy Canon's. The autofocus point selection on the Canon cameras I have used is not very convenient, either. However, I haven't used autofocus on any of the flagship Canon's, whereas the K20D, which is my main camera, was the Pentax flagship for a while.

Another colleague at work who has seen some of my images is now showing a lot of interest in the K5 . he picked up my K5 with the grip on the camera and commented on the ergonomics ,he really liked it. I think we may have another advocate of pentax soon.
