from the photokina interviews, i think they already said that K 01 was a one-off camera, i.e. there will be no follow-on model. I found that disappointing.
I went to one of these 2 day Kinetic sculpture parades this last weekend. we biked around it to avoid the traffic problems. Took my old 7mp Canon PS instead of my K5. Got some good shots wtih it even though most of the time i couldn't see much on the lcd due to sunlight. i did a lot of looking around at the cameras others were using. Felt a bit sorry for the old farts (like me
) carrying around a pack of lenses and heavy DSLRs. But the heavy DSLRs were few and far between. Lots of smart phone picture taking, PS like me, and bridge cameras i suppose. I found my own picture taking much more fun and creative without the heavy lenses and dslr.
I'm not giving up the K5, but this is the kind of picture taking that i don't do anything with, so it was an experiment on my part to get back to a smaller size of camera. But i found it liberating and caused me to take some fun shots i wouldn't normally do.
I would have liked to see Pentax build something like the Nex or Fuji, but since they refuse to do that (i suggested it on the poll questionairre however), I plan on buying one of the new mirrorless to supplement the K5.
