Pentax Survey - They want opinions

I just got an email from Pentax asking me to complete a survey. It was interesting, asking things like why I chose Pentax, what else did I consider, is there much awareness of Pentax? I don't think I've gotten anything like that before. It's a good sign.

Took the survey. Great opportunity to tell Pentax how we feel.

I gave them two answers to this one. Full Frame and some of the exotic glass offered by Cannon would be a serious consideration.

Typical survey (not actually asking for opinion or suggestion), but I did it anyway...

Mods: This might be worth confirming, and putting an official link in the news/main page section.

Thanks for posting about the survey. I completed it and said that "Fast, accurate, and PRECISE auto-focus" was the main reason I have considered Nikon and Canon.

They might add a place to comment on why the K30 Timer-SR-AEB (or any bracketing) can't be combined. On both of my Bridge Zooms they'll all 3 work together.

And where's the Focus-Bracketing - as in one of my Bridges?

Ohh - and on anything Pentax is alleging to be a "mid-range" DSLR - er, why no stereo-audio for video? Both of my Bridge Zooms have that. (One also has the ability to record stereo-audio only, at 11k / 22k / 44k.) Or at least a socket for an external mic - conspicuously missing on the K30.

Sure, the K30 is a nice camera - but it should have functions that at least equal older P&S Bridge Zooms. Oh - and continuous focus in video - like the same-price 650D....

If Pentax was aiming at a slightly modernised K200D - they've succeeded very well. If they were building a full-functions "mid-range" camera - ummm, their designers might at least look around and upgrade the "K31" or whatever is next, to match the better Bridge camera functions. Low-bitrate HD video with Mono audio, no mic socket, and no continuous focusing, is woeful.

Sure - I do like my K30, particularly the full pentaprism with old manual lenses - but why wasn't it called the K250D...?

Regards, Dave.

Done and done.

I hope they actually look through these and consider listening to what their users want.

I took the survey, too. I really hope they read them, ask for more feedback, and take the answers they receive into consideration. I mentioned that the most recent camera I bought was a Canon, due to the video features / Magic Lantern software / Technicolor Cinestyle picture profile. I forgot to mention Canon's relationship with top cinematographers and accessory manufacturers, and their Live Learning Center in Los Angeles, all of which are great things.

strange survey

Strange survey really. Could it be a phishing expedition? Did not ask for any ideas for new products . You would think there would be more room for these comments.Might be worth checking if this is a legitimate survey.I am a bit suspicious .
