Photo upload storage site suggestions sought

Where are you guys posting your images onlien for storage and hosting?

I was using webshots, but they appear to be crapping the bed, so I might as well swallow the loss and start fresh somewhere solid.

I've been using Flickr pro for years. There are some great Pentax groups on Flickr too.

Another for flickr. Pro account gives you unlimited uploads and basic account is 200 photos. I went with the Pro account two years ago. Another thing I like about flickr is they protect your photos and you can make the photos uploaded private so others can't use right click.

What do people use thats NOT flickr?

Looking for a place to post online, share with family. I am not a pro and I do not want to sell prints online. Just looking for a place to post and share them online.

I have my own server at home, behind my DSL line. I never found any good hosting service I was not running myself.

Other than Flickr choices are pretty limited. For completely private sharing there are sites like Dropbox, CX, and Box.net. Flickr alternatives are photobucket and Google+ (formerly Picasa Web Albums).

I use both of these in addition to flickr. Picasa Web Albums still exists as a standalone service - you don't need a Google+ account. It is linked to your Google account (Gmail, etc). It also integrates nicely with the Picasa photo editor/organizer application.

Google+ is linked to your Gmail account as well. Google+ is linked to everything Google does.

Right - I was just stating that it's not necessary to have a Google+ account to use Picasa Web albums. Using myself as example - I've never signed up for a Google+ account, but have used the Web Albums for years. Now maybe Google gave me a + account, if so, I'm not aware of it.

Image Shack, SmugMug, Zenfolio, and Photobucket are some others. That is not an endorsement by any means.

I use Photobucket Pro. It has pretty much the same feature set as Flickr Pro.

Excellent options - thanks guys. I've resisted flickr until now...guess I'll go have a look-see...

Won't use Google's services.

Smugmug is on my no-no list for personal reasons, but I know lots of folks who like them.

Worth peeking at Photobucket, too, I suppose...

Thanks gang.

OK, went with a pro account at Flickr for 2 years - seems to have everything I want, but I'll re-examine that statement after a throw a few thousand images in there.

Thanks gang.

I use Photobucket. I make albums and it works OK.

Flickr renamed the photos I uploaded when I tried them, which was about #165 on the FAQ - seriously. Bailed.
