An old film find...

Here's a small story of something you don't see everyday...

Yesterday I went with a friend who's interested in old cameras to see a display of unused examples in a shop downtown.
After playing around with various dusty cameras we discovered one slightly rusty fold-out 6x9 camera was still loaded with film.
After a brief stunned silence, there was a unanimous decision that the film had to be shot.

We guessed the exposure based on ASA100 and opened it afterwards to find we were just about right.

I have no idea how old the Kodak Verichrome pan film is or if it will work at all.. but will find out within a few days.

So...What was the camera and what size is the film? Kodak quit making VP in 120 in 2002, but the paper backing on your roll looks much older.

Film was 8-frame 120 Kodak Verichrome slide 6x9. Does that make sense? My film knowledge is pretty sketchy. Luckily my friend knew how to use the camera no problems, I had no idea.
I gathered the film was made about 1950-2002. I did find a picture of a film with exactly that orange paper cover, and that roll had expired in 1967...

Yes, it makes sense, sort of. Was this information taken from the backing paper or from somewhere on the camera. The camera, if it is the same model as the ad, makes BIG 6x9 negatives, but only 8 exposures per roll or smaller 6x4.5 negatives with 16 per roll. The "slide" part does not make sense. The roll in your photo is clearly labeled Verichrome Pan, which is a b&w negative film.

Interesting. Were any photos on it already taken before you found it?

Might have been one frame taken, not sure. Finished off the roll ourselves.

The film is definitely black and white, ASA 125 and is at the lab...

A bit of a sad end to the story, the old film didn't come out with anything use-able... the expsoure we shot out should have been ok but the film was also very dusty. A leaky camera me-thinks...
