So.... Pentax Full Frame is a sure thing?

Apologize to bring up the FF topic again....
Just want to be sure... after Photokina and the interview in Japan, that Pentax full frame is a work in progress?
What is your conclusion about all those Pentax FF info?

A. Still like before, only rumor, nothing is confirm;
B. Work in progress, nothing promise;
C. Work in progress, sure will be available in 1-2 years;
D. Pentax will not go into FF, just fooling around with the idea to give Pentaxian hope.

A, B, C, or D?

I am pretty confuse myself so would like to know what you guys think.

Lee

My impression was they said something along the lines of B, but I think C is a reasonable expectation.

sounds like option C.

Yes, Adam said the end of 2013 (which sounds about right to me).

I wonder if we're going to see a 24mp APS-C in the meantime. The K5 IIs is a very fine camera, but as far as I'm concerned, not worth the extra-cost, compared to the K-5 or K-30. I was thinking of getting the latter, but I'd hate it if they released a camera with Nex 7's sensor in the spring.

I'm sure that they would have a business plan to address both possible options. Chances are they arleady know whether they will ever scome out with any new 24x36 digital full frame -but only a very few know it and they aren't sharing

I've heard all four at different points in time... And even then, a thousand variations of each. I use to get caught up in the whole "gimme full frame" thing, but since I now have one I've settled down. I've realized that a camera is just a tool and the actual need for FF takes on a much different face once a person has one (in other words, I use to think I wanted FF for shallow DOF, better high ISO, etc., but now it's for a whole different set of reasons).

Don't get me wrong though, I'd still love to see a small, minimalist Pentax FF DSLR with a whopper OVF in a body similar to some of the old film cameras... Maybe even forego AF, and I'd just run a 50mm on it, and I bet nobody could pry that thing from around my neck!

I want one very badly, but after 10 years I've used up all my hope. My stance now is I'll believe it when I can walk into a store and buy one. At present I'm just saving up to buy into another system.

In the mean time, I think we should all switch to Leica, Nikon, Sony, or Canon, just to be safe. It is all about the DoF. Our photos currently are grossly being neglected, guys. How can we do that? It is plain wrong, wrong, and wrong. This is equivalent to airplanes not having wings, cars not having tires, old men not taking Viagras.

We should start combining these daily threads.

It's only a sure thing when it hits stores.
