Pentax at Le Salon de la Photo 2012

Looks like Pentax Ricoh has a nice booth also at Le Salon de la Photo 2012 in Paris.

If you happen to be there make sure to check some of my photos @ Pentax booth!
(There will be different theme every day. Todays theme was "Winter is coming".)

I went to the Salon de la Photo too. Pentax' booth was indeed spacious and nice! All the cameras and lenses on display, great photo exhibitions…

They also had:
- a crazy "fountain" that writes and draws pictures by dropping water. At the bottom the weather proof lineup was displayed, a nice way to advertise this feature. Lots of people looked and took pictures, so it seemed effective.
- a silly robot that went around the booth with infos on the display and leaflets on the side.

To be honest the only thing that blew my mind at the Salon was the Olympus OMD EM-5. It was my first opportunity to put my hands on one: the viewfinder is surprisingly good (I don't say that lightly, I usually *hate* them, much much better than the Fuji ones) the body is just gorgeous and the pics seem as good as the ones from my K-5, with a tiny bit more noise but that's expected from a smaller sensor. It feels like a digital Pentax MX.

PS: congrats Joni! I visited the Salon on thursday during the "Winter is coming" day. I didn't know your real name, but I actually saw your photos. Fantastic work! They are on my last picture below.

Glad they took the feedback from the last trade show and emphasized the WR of the camera lineup at this one!!!

Yes, they had two big display showcases, one with the dSLRs and the 645d, the other with all the "small" cameras: Q10, Ricoh cameras, Optio…

They still do. They have a different distributor in France.
