Yep, love the status updater. Reminded me of my fiance grabbing my K10 d with the 24-135 to do a self-portrait...
And yeah, I've done the macro thing too...

The funniest thing that I have been privy to recently has been when a business colleague pulled out her dSLR during a meeting and started doing the macro thing while everyone else proceeded along with the meeting agenda. There is the word "*ss" embedded in the word "embarrass" for a reason.
