Help-Portrait

Just curious - how many PF members participated in Help-Portrait this year.

Around 30 members of my photography group/club worked with the local family and childrens' services organization and made portraits for low-income families today.

This was our fourth year participating, and I look forward to it every year. For most of these families these portraits are the only photos they have, and it is truly humbling to receive their gratitude.

We photographed 90 families today, and I have to give a little shout out to Mpix, as they picked up the entire tab for the prints.

I'd never heard of it, sounds like a great project!

I was there. I ended up just using my K-5, a metz flash I bounced off the ceiling and my m50 1.4, which is my go to lens for portraits usually. It was a really good day. Of course I was the only one there with a pentax. The one girl said "interesting choice of cameras." I asked her what was so interesting about it. She replied that it was unusual. I was the only one there using primes too.
