No filters here either but I don't think I qualify as an "old coot" or Stogie either.

I feel that adding filters distracts from my photos quality.

I buckled under and got a cheap 49mm CPL for shooting though glass for my ongoing project. Since it fits all the DA Ltds, it works out to only 5.49 a lens...I have an emergency UV beach filter in a baggie somewhere. Not sure if it fits anything I have.

I probably should get a CPL for use around where I shoot. But I don't want a cheap one. I've had cheap ones and they just don't work right. I shoot around water at things that are in water.
