Digital Camera World - K3 Speculation

New Pentax cameras we’d like to see in 2013.

"There’s nothing to base this on except rumour and wishful thinking, but a full-frame K-3 could transform Pentax’s fortunes. It already has a legacy of full-frame lenses from its film days (though most probably in need of modernisation).

The specs? A 24-megapixel sensor, 5fps continuous shooting, a chunky, compact, no-nonsense metal alloy body with integral anti-shake and a price that undercuts the Nikon D600 (currently the cheapest full-frame DSLR) by £200. That’s just our guess, mind…

Pentax DSLRs are packed with clever features, like automatic distortion and chromatic aberration correction, highlight/shadow dynamic range compensation, and genuinely useful filter effects.

They’re better than people give them credit for, and if Pentax did move up into full-frame DSLRs then that could be just what the brand needs to bring it back into the mainstream."

I'm waiting......

I doubt it'll be out this year, and even then, there's no way the D600 can be undercut. It's already selling for less than high-end APS-C bodies did 2 years ago...

I've a k-5 and I'm considering buying two DA* lens. If in the future Pentax bring out a full frame canera, will I be able to use the DA* lenses over the whole sensor ?

If not, will Pentax have to bring out new lens for any full frame camera they bring out ?
