Pentax Needs to Sponsor Pro Photographers...

And here is a perfect example. I couldn't help but think that should have been a 645D the entire time.

Photographing Some of the World's Best Kayakers with Tim Kemple

And when I am done with all the paperwork I have to do this weekend, I am going to contact Mr. Kempel to see if there's the possibility to joining him for one of his shoots because that is just incredible! That's exactly the type of photography I would love to do, and I got goosebumps when I saw his taking images from a wire. If this doesn't scream Pentax then I don't know what does.

They should sponsor more than just Kerrick James, that is.

Good luck in contacting and being given the chance - this looks right up your alley! And I bet it would be a two way learning experience given your background. You might want to direct him to your series of "sandbox" posts here for a reference.

Some impressive stuff there, though I think my days of dangling on a rope to get a shot are well behind me. Go for it while you're still young! Heck, the worst the guy can do is say no... and he might surprise and say yes!

Sponsor Pros is a longshot. Canon and Sony are already sponsoring promising amateurs from what i hear.

Monster Beats became overnight success because celebrities were using them on the screen and personal life. My thinking is Pentax just dont have the $$$ or should i say resources to sponsor Pros.

At the very least i hope pentax next dslr has vari angle lcd for my back sake.
