What's up with Cameta?

I found a good sale on Tenba bags at Cameta and posted it to the Price Watch forum. While on their site I looked at their Pentax offerings - K-30s galore but nothing else - no Q10, no K-5s, no lenses. They sell the point & shoots and the K-30 in bundles but that's it. They have big banner search categories for Lenses and Pentax MILCs but they are empty when clicked on? Weird.

too bad they are from the crayon/vomit color line!

They never have had much in the way of Pentax gear, probably just using generic banners that don't fit with their product lineup.

I did not say I would carry one, but they are Tenba bags and they make solid gear.

Cameta. Look them up. Long history there.
I remember them from when I used to live in New York.

I spoke with my sister who shoots Nikon (I bought her her first dSLR and it was Nikon for a variety of reasons) and she's dealt with Cameta. Lots of little problems, trouble returning, "mischarges" and failure to refund 100% is what she recalled. She said she would rather not deal with them again.

Yup. The fact they are still around means they do *just enough* right, but they are definitely not first tier.

In poking around their website they have a really high level of refurbished products. I know my sister looks at price and I'm sure she's trying refurbs in Nikon. Still, there is no excuse today for so many "simple" billing errors and being a pain about returns.

They are pretty well liked in the micro 4/3 crowd owing to the huge selection of deeply discounted refurbished bodies, kits and lenses - I haven't heard anything negative so far and they are regularly posted in the deal section over at mu-43. I bought an e-pm1 kit from them myself without any issues - they also carry a big load of nikon refurbished stuff (and generally the best prices).

Nothing like a fuchsia bag to accent a black and yellow K-01!

Yes, it would be great to hold the vomit.
