I think it looks pretty neat now, I bet it would look even better on a high res screen!

The new layout is impressive at first glance. I'll have to check to see if anything else changed in regards to regular and "pro" accounts.

I just discovered a problem with the new design. If you want to go to the links to help etc on the bottom of the main page you have to be quick. Every time you scroll down to the bottom the page loads more pics and updates causing the menu to disappear down again.

This is what Thomas Hawk said about the Pro accounts on his blog:

"While this might sound really great for today’s free account users, it should be noted that the new free 1 TB account will contain advertising. If you want to opt out of advertising on your free account, you will need to pay $49 per year….

…unless…

you are already an existing Pro account member. While Flickr will no longer offer new Pro accounts, existing Pros will be allowed to keep their Pro account and continue paying $24.95/year for full unlimited high res ad free storage (still the best deal in my opinion)."

Thomas Hawk Digital Connection

Sounds like if you have a current Pro account you are better off keeping that.

Good, I just bought the pro account a couple months ago. Until I read this post I thought it was money wasted.

Any 'Thomas Hawk' comment on anything: straight into the bin it goes.

But luckily I already have a Pro account.

Anyone know what the ads look like? I currently have pro so I don't know if ads are seen on the user's account by the user, or by everyone, or what.

I'm just loving this move from Yahoo. They are back with a bang. Now the ball is in Google's court. Yahoo played the same trick with Google. Most people moved to Gmail when Google came up with 1gb storage.

The competition is heating up. Expect new storage plans from all major photo hosting sites in coming monts.

I loathe it - it's flickr dumbed down.
