B&W only DSLR

What happened to my message? It's blank. Did the admins move to the proper forum?

Anyway, was just wondering how to remove the color array filter of my K100D, after reading how Canon users remove theirs from old 1000D's. Any ideas? Thanks!

I think that was a temporary glitch. If you were to remove the CFA, would you need to use a different program to decode the raw files?

I'll try to track down the blog I read where they removed the color filter array themselves. They basically scratched and peeled it off (in one sample shot, there were still bits of color left along the edges where the filter wasn't removed completely). Apparently it makes images sharper, more sensitive ISO, and better DR. But yeah, anyone tried this out themselves?

I guess that’s a cheaper alternative than getting a Leica “Monochrom”!

Or you could just shoot film and switch between colour and b&w whenever you want using the same camera.

Phil.
