This is great, persuasive stuff. It's good that they make the point about the number of APS-C lenses and the size of their lenses, because it's often overlooked. If only more reviewers would consider this before criticising the lens selection.

It's interesting, too, that they are using the same material in Japan. It all looks coordinated and well targeted.

Heavy APS-C emphasis.

Nice focus on the lightweight glass, SR, and ruggedness.

Holy ka zolie... you want Pentax marketing to tell you what brand A and brand B have to offer? Really? Because brand A and brand B spend so much of thier marketing dollars telling everyone how great Pentax is, right? Is that what you're thinking? It's an advertisement. It's reason for being is to sell Pentax product. Brand A and Brand B do their own marketing.

Have another cup of coffee and maybe rethink that.
I think you should have another cup of coffee and recalibrate your facetious/sarcasm meter.

Yep, I see no issue with the way they're doing it. Although I could live with some elegant off-black parts on my cameras, e.g. a dark brown grip rubber.
That sounds nice indeed
I must admit that certain colors aren`t that bad and I believe the blue K30 was quite populair, even here?

What would be the fun in that?

Besides, most of the post was neither facetious or sarcastic... those questions can be read straight up if you choose. If you write something that begs questions, sometimes folks ask those questions.

Count me in with the colors. I've always thought it was a good direction to move in. I'm hoping the new flagship will come in colors too, as I'd like to have a matching body for my 300mm F*

There's always this debate as to whether photography represents an art form rather than a technical craft, but you'd think those that do want to produce artful images would appreciate some aesthetic choiced in body colors assuming all the other ergonomic and technical needs have been met.

Yeah, because colors are more importants than pentaprism and weather sealing.

They're not exclusive; and do you think it would be better for Pentax to sell fewer, but all-black cameras?

IMHO there is no link whatsoever between the colors and internals of the camera. One is strictly cosmetics/manufacturing and the other is technical. The colors help selling in greater volumes and attract attention. The other might attract attention of an experience user or tech savvy user.

I don't see why they would not use colors.

I'm really glad to see more marketing efforts. Hopefully it will pan out in long run. My only nitpick is that I think Pentaprism and SR should be #2 so it sticks out more -- such underrated features.

They say marketing is telling the truth in imaginative ways.
I personally think APS-C term is too technical, albeit true. Is there a way to avoid it, and still avoid being compared to Nikon FFs and their 50+ FF ready lenses?

They also say, marketing is selling people things they don't need to impress people they don't like. I'm not sure if that's relevant.... OK , I'll shut up now.

By the way, they also have a section for lenses:
Which of these lenses would you choose? One more lens just right for you | RICOH IMAGING
No limited, though, I guess it's done for the consumer looking for affordable quality - upgraders from kit lenses.
