Recommendation for photography magazine in UK.

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good photography magazine in the UK? I got a free copy of Digital SLR Photography recently and while it isn't that good I would be interested in reading a photography magazine regularly.

Cheers

Interests?

I tend to try them out on the special offers, '3 for £3', that sort of thing. Only one I've stuck with is Outdoor Photographer.

You've got general interest mags like Amateur Photographer, specialist mags like Outdoor Photographer, and many like Digital SLR photographer that are very much into technique.

Hi johnx.

I like landscape photography and architecture as well. I tend not to like shooting people/ events. I was looking for something perhaps a bit more than beginners'. I found DSLR Photography to have too many tests and adverts (although I guess these days they will all have a lot of adverts).

I will check out Outdoor Photographer, that sounds interesting.

My library carries Practical Photographer and I've browsed a couple of issues. I found it refreshingly gear-agnostic and free from tests and reviews.
The content was a little basic for my taste perhaps, but I could definitely see how it could work as monthly inspiration for new stuff to try out. Especially if one was stuck in a rut.

Regards,
--Anders.

Thanks for the reply. The reason why I want to read a magazine is definitely to reinvigorate my photography and get some inspiration so I will have a look at that!

Thanks for the reply. When it says Professional Photographer does this mean it is aimed at professionals only or is it just loosely named that? I'll get a copy when I am next out.

It's a pro mag but I find it an interesting read and fairly advert free.

Good question, as nearly all photo-mags are heavily rubbish and this sadly includes the British Journal of Photography monthly.. My personal opinion though.

Excelling, common sense editions are Amateur Photographer weekly, c't Digital Photography quarterly and Aesthetica bi-montly. The last one not entirely dedicated photo-mag, but very inspiring for photographers, IMHO. If you can only go for one out of them three, I would recommend c't Digital Photography magazine.

I read "'Black and White photography" Black & White Photography_Magazines - The GMC Group every month. It is delivered to my doorstep, and I do like the magazine alot. It is a very nice magazine, with good mix pictures, interviews technical stuff etc.
