Old Pentax adverts

Here are two images I found on the weekend in the March/April 1972 issue of Camera Graphics Australia. Note the current Australian Pentax distributor's name at the bottom of the adverts. The Spotmatic ad was on the outside back cover (hence the image is a bit dirty).

The other Pentax advert is on a poster in my local (large) hospital.

Perhaps others could add their found ads here, too?

Nice. It would be interesting to see how those coatings compare to today's modern lenses.

Cool find! BTW - would love to find a P38A in great shape...tough in a snowy clime

A.J. - Coatings are the same today (Super-Multi-Coated = SMC Pentax) albeit the new HD coated lenses or the aero-bright on your DA* 60-250...or ghostless on the FA Limiteds...might be better, but for the most part the same, it'd just be the image processing in the camera that affected it now...higher ASA/ISO's, better signal to noise, etc...right guys?? Unless the lens designs/glass configurations today are that much better at negating some of those issues SMC was designed to solve...

I bet the Expo is held at the local mechanic's shop. And he's made a fortune.
As far as the ads go, I was reading those and thought "Hell yeah, I want one of those Takumars." then I realised I already have one. 135mm f2.5. Not good with flare.

Regards
