I post, most days, from my phone. So auto correct frequently "helps" me. Especially when I'm trying to swear.

I thought autocorrect is "helping" you mostly when you're trying not to swear

Imagine the complaints in 1975 when K-mount was introduced and the M42 went away.
Not really. Pentax M42 lens sales were flat then. Everyone fully expected a bayonet mount system overhaul from Pentax, and in fact were like, "What the heck is taking them so long??" The release of the K mount also breathed a lot of life into smaller camera makers who wound up adopting it as their own mount -- including Ricoh.

It had taken Pentax a long time to finally settle on a bayonet mount, but the one they went with was well designed with a good future.

It's a pity internet wasn't around for the Canon FD EOS switch. I know some people who are still very bitter about it.

What choice did Canon have? Trying to add AF to FD was a kludge, just look at the T80 and the AC lenses...just as bad as the ME F.

Kinda like FF? Will the collective response be, "Huh. Took 'ya long enuff."

I know. They know as well. It's just that back then they didn't care about AF or all the rest of fancy electronics.

When the time to abandon the current SLR mounts comes there will be lots of rather unhappy people. No matter how good the reasons.

Actually, I get the feeling the momentum is swinging away from full frame. I know that may (still) be blasphemous to say on this forum, but frankly who died and made the 35mm format king of all formats? I think the argument can be made that Pentax's best shot at leap-frogging past the full-frame hullabaloo is to develop and maintain at least a couple 645 models (one professional grade and one 'affordable') with an accompanying system (they already have a running start there if they maintain backward compatibility with their existing 645 lenses). Just my thoughts.
