What do you guys think of this for a self-marketing strategy?
Quote: "Art 4 Ten is based solely around digital downloads. This does a few things. First completion of the transaction is instant. Once purchased, you will receive an email where you can download the full high res, non-watermarked version of your choice. Second, you can do whatever you want with it! Use it as a background for your computer, get it printed to any size, as many times as you want! And no shipping fees! ...I was a bit hesitant at first to go about things this way. Obviously selling your digital files opens up the possibility of the files being passed around, other people taking credit for them etc. However in today's world of the internet I think it would be even more of a mistake to not try and take advantage of making my work available easily to everyone, because with the internet my reach is pretty much unlimited."
Art 4 Ten ? Jon Billings Photography
He's trying to get exposure, in a world where there is so much competition between photographers' online portfolios... but it sounds to me like he's basically giving them away, without worrying about copyright...
I wouldn't, but what do others think?
