old camera's

Brownie Hawkeye, Target Brownie Six-16, Rival 120 Elite.
These 3 old cameras are going up for auction in my area and was wondering if they were worth getting to put in a glass case just for decoration? What is the most I should pay? The bidding starts at 10.00 dollars.

Well they're worth what they're worth to the high bidder. I know somebody whose grandmother gacve him a Brownie Hawkeye when he was six who would pay ridiculous money to have that one.

Just sayin'

These are popular with the Lomography crowd here in the Portland area, but are usually sold in somewhat better condition. I would pass unless you plan on using them for home decorations.

My daughter in law gave me a Brownie Hawkeye last year because she "knew I liked cameras". It appears to be in better shape than the one pictured and she paid $3 for it. I've no idea what pricing should be but if you go to an auction site and look at completed listings you can get a general idea what something is selling for.

As noted above, if you are a collector then pricing is what you feel like paying.

Ok thanks for the feedback, I guess I'll pass for now. I may go to the place and have a better look to.

How much would you pay for some "Chinese" doo dad to sit around and collect dust? The cameras are worth the same. A quick check of sold listings on Ebay shows the Brownie selling for as little as 99 cents and as much as $18. Some have the flash unit or manual and some don't.

My grandmother gave me mine and it is not for sale at any price.

the other question is, if you wish to use these for photography, the Rival 120 takes 120 film, the Brownie Hawkeye Flash is 620, though you might be able to fit a 120 roll in it, and the six-16 film is no longer (at least easily) obtainable.
To use as cameras rather than decoration, I agree with Steve, you can get something that uses 120 film and is in good shape, and have a lot of fun for not much money.

I wonder if Riorico`s rule applies?

"If it costs less than lunch, just buy it."

Probably. But, there isn't much you can buy for $1.26 (McDouble price here).
