I was answering him too because he quoted what I said.

I was talking about the "" version of the site specifically; I didn't realize that my URL would get replaced by the title of the page when I hit Submit -- but others have already reported that that doesn't work, so oh well.

Shall we have a period of mourning for the old website, cast aside like so many thing in this fast paced world.

They already have a twitter (for a couple of year already)

Next thing you know there will be a KEH store app for Iphone

New site is terrible.

Does not look like it was designed by someone who knows how a buyer would look for stuff.

Certainly a good case of 'if it ain't broken, don't fix it'

They just lost my business for the time being as I got on the site when LBA hit, surfed around and struggled with finding what I want and by then, logic hit me and my hand moved away from the 'Buy' button.

I can find what I'm looking for, just can't afford it.

I did a quick look at lenses, and the problem: no selection by lens mount. Clearly a Whoops in the spec to the web developer there.

A search for Leica Screw worked, at least it brought the items with both terms up top... Pentax Screw worked the same, but unfortunately both queries bring back both terms individually as in combination.

M42 works kind of... for lenses... the only camera body is a Leica IIIC

Also, as I'm going to be more of a seller than buyer, a quick look at the online quote thing didn't inspire confidence

Too much like Amazon and the search engine is almost as bad. Thumbs down.

After I emailed keh complaining about new site, I saw a post here about And keh also emailed me back saying it's still there (bottom right side). And it seems to work fine/exactly as before--just tried it (e.g., 35mm--> pentax K --> MF lenses).

BTW I just tried putting a lens into shopping cart, and that worked fine/as usual. Did not go further and actually buy it !

Agreed. The new one is at a level that only KEH should be using for usability testing. It's not ready for prime time. I tried to use the quote system last week and could not complete a quote.

I found the old site easy to navigate. The did have some slowness issues from time to time. Some better hardware and refactoring of some code would have gone a long way.
