We can only speculate but it's really good that we get real low ISO and not the fake ones that only result in highlight clipping. ISO afterall is an immutable property of a sensor. You can't change it. I think Sony struck gold when they came up with the K5 sensor. The DR is so good. I could push shadows up to 4 stops even with acceptable results.
