I was in Washington DC this week and went to the Natural History Museum. One of the exhibits was a wildlife photography exhibit, see link:

A couple of surprising things..
1) most of the shots taken with a Nikon or Canon. There were some Japanese landscapes taken with a K5. But no MF.
2) The shots were 48in by 36in and larger. The enlargements looked like paper encapsulated in Acrylic and were superb. Most of the shots were either 24 Mpixels or less (some D800/810) and some APSc. surprisingly the resolution at this size was quite good ( and I went really close).
