What kind of 24mm do you want Pentax to release?

Let's do Pentax' market research for them! As we know, currently Pentax is missing a 24mm prime. What kind of 24mm prime would you want Pentax to release? Please decide in the poll, and feel free to explain more in a post, like about what kind of features you want. WR, QS, distance scales, aperture ring? I think FF compatibility goes without saying
Please keep it real, and don't post about an f1.2 lens if you aren't willing to pay the price that would come with that feature.

At 24mm on Full Frame, for me then f2.8 is fine, so I went for the compact limited style option, something that doesn't add too much bulk to the camera. Do we really need f1.8 or wider on such a wide lens? What practical purposes could that have? DOF won't be much different except at the closest possible focusing distances, and ' light gathering' purposes will hardly be needed, given the FF expected high ISO performance. .....

We now have 24mm D-FA 2.8 from the new zoom; I think the first priority for a prime in this focal length should be for a Limited lens, somewhere around f/3.2, with everything possible done to keep the size and weight down (including using screwdrive).

F/2 or F/2.8 would be great.

Yeah, and hopefully obtainable, not aspirational .

If I have to choose, I just want an update of the currently FA 24/f2 with the new motor and HD coating... nothing more.

I agree also - FA24/2 is a nice lens and a good balance of optics, weight and size

I agree, my FA*24mm is an awesome picture taker when mounted on one of my Full Frame Film cameras (K2, LX, MZ3).
I'm just itching to try it out on my future Pentax Full Frame Digital.

It partly depends on whether Sigma make more of their Art lenses available in K-mount. The Sigma 24mm f1.4 DG Art already does fast, big, and heavy. If that becomes available for K-mount, I would rather see a Limited-style compact 24 from Pentax. An updated FA* 24 would also be popular. Either way, there would need to be a clear advantage over the D-FA 24-70 f2.8 zoom @ 24mm; size, speed, or IQ.

Are we surrendering T/S to Samyang and S-K?

With a focus on Hi Rez - an HD coated w/r Tilt Shift would fit nicely in a landscape/architectural kit.

They should make two - one affordable plastic option to add to the optically very good DA 35 f/2.4 and DA 50 f/1.8, and one that can accompany the FF and fulfil the highest of expectations. Whether D FA* or D FA Ltd., I don't care much, but should be at least f/1.8 or faster.

But generally I would like to see the DA 35 and 50 to be updated with DC and WR, akin to the new DA 18-50 DC WR kit lens. If that happened a new plastic 24 should obviously be on the same level.

The DA 645 25mm, or even better the D FA 645 25mm,
would have been a good basis for a quick-and-easy 24x36mm All-Weather Tilt-Shift,
but unfortunately Pentax found itself unable to continue production of those.

A 24mm f/2.8 macro would be my vote. 1:2 magnification is plenty. Please do not make one of those f/1.4 monsters like Nikon and Canon do. I use Pentax because I like compact gear.
