What will we see?

No more full frame cameras for at least a year.

A K3 II sequel the beginning of next year.

Lots of primes and maybe an f4 zoom next year.

Maybe a 645z sequel towards the end of the year.

So, my guess is not a whole lot for the rest of the year, but quite a bit happening next year.

Edit: If there is a new camera, my guess would be entry level. K-S1 sequel with no weather sealing, flippy screen and normal specs for an entry level. I would question if Pentax would try experimenting with an EVF on this sort of a camera.

Panasonic mirrorless camera has small body like Q series too.
GM series Panasonic is discontinued, as is the GF series.

Quite weird but I think there will be upgraded version of K-1, K-1ii after 2 years.

K-5ii released after 2 years from K-5
K-3ii released after 2 years from K-3
645Z took 4 years from 645D.

I wish to see new cameras not upgraded version but Pentax seem to enjoy upgrading camera body.

I feel like I don't see any good rumors on here anymore of upcoming gear from Pentax. So in light of the big announcements coming out of Canon today...I thought I'd throw out some predictions and questions to the group....
I have no idea what you're talking about.
I didn't see anything special on the canonusa.com page.
Perhaps you should post something at Non-Pentax Cameras: Canon, Nikon, etc. - PentaxForums.com

Predictions (ie my wish list)
FF Stripped down K-1 - $1100 - Remove the flippy screen, remove wifi, remove 4k video, and give me a less expensive FF camera. Kind of the Nikon D810 vs D610 roadmap. Making this mirrorless would leap frog them past Fuji too!
From my perspective the K-1 is already a stripped down FF camera. I don't see much of a market for less than that.

Super APS-C camera - $1,800 - now that Pentax is gaining the attention of serious professionals again (are they?), maybe a competitive sports camera that is smaller, lighter, cheaper and better weather sealed than other options on the market but with a huge buffer and frame rate would be interesting.
I've been expecting something for Photokina, most likely a new "flagship" APS-C camera. Now that Pentax has the K-1 for landscape photography, I expect the APS-C line to pivot towards the sports and events markets. I would expect them to meld technology from the K-1 and K-70 into this new product.

Mirrorless APS-C camera - $1,100 - Something along the lines of the Sony A6000 with better lenses and a viewfinder. Slap the bodycap 40mm XS on it and you have a Ricoh GR with flexibility and a viewfinder.
Anyone who has handled a Sony camera in the past year or two knows that EVF technology is good. I had been expecting a Q-S2 with an EVF, but since that hasn't happened, most likely the "Q" family will be quietly forgotten. I don't know what Pentax's contract with Sony limits, but an MILC, based on the K-70 but having a modern EVF makes a lot of sense, especially if it never fully opens the aperture but leaves it "stopped down" the entire time {with a WYSIWYG that makes sense} so it would be a natural for those wanting to use old lenses.

FF Lenses - I suspect Pentax will be releasing a slew of new FF lenses in the next year. Tons of primes especially. Maybe dusting off some legendary old glass with new nanocoatings and better, quieter AF motors. Some new lenses that are not as expensive as the FF options with revised SDM for APS-C would be nice too (ie a replacement for the awesome DA* 50-135 especially since you can't get the Sigma 50-150 anymore).
I'm expecting them to slowly expand the KAF4 family. O course, they need more lenses designed for FF also.

Yes, slightly smaller and the 12.32 and 35.100 are compact little zooms that do a great job in goodish light.I use a GM1, the video is far and away superior to the Qs(stills are similar to Q7, very good).

The thing is that full frame cameras traditionally are updated every three years -- D800 to D810, 5D Mk II to III, etc. APS-C tech and sensors seem to get more frequent refreshes.

The big untapped area, for what it is worth, for Pentax would be video. So far it is an after thought. If they decided to really apply themselves then maybe they could ramp it up on a future APS-C camera.

I guess there are some hints on what Pentax is currently working on or rather considering.
I am quite surprised that i didn't read anything so far in another thread.

For all the people who filled out the survey.
Ricoh survey: your interest on Pentax K-mount lenses | Pentax Rumors

In the APS-C page they ask if you are interested in f1.8 zooms.

I wonder if that is just a curiosity or if they are really considering them.
Sigma made quite some impact with them.
If Pentax invests more in them they might become the King of APS-Cs.

Oh yeah! I can hardly wait until they craft these babies for real:

It is as if I'm watching one of those Documentaries/News clips of what the future will look like.. it seems futuristic at the time, but comedically outdated and awful when we get to that actual point in time imagined.

I don't think a stripped down version is k-1 is likely...... unless of course, k-1 is not selling as projected. Based on what we have seen so far, it will be a while before the demand drops dramatically. By then, it may be a year later and the price of k-1 may come down quite a bit. If I want the k-1 to be cheaper, I would rather wait than getting a stripped down version of k-1.
