So now we're down to hoping for rehashed lenses with new coatings? I'm looking forward to brand new lenses here!
I'm just guessing here but I expect some original Pentax designs and some new co-designs.

Well if the re-release the FA31, I hope they at least give it AW sealing and a fancy motor of some sort (not SDM).

I think we're chasing a tail here.

Adding HD coatings alone doesn't seem like much of an upgrade though to me. Screwdrive, while sufficient for many uses, does feel rather archaic. And it isn't going to build the brand if every other brand has moved on to micromotors in the lens.... that becomes more of an expectation at the start.

And why tout weather sealedness (technical term) of the camera bodies when the highly touted primes lack it? It seems a no brainer to me to introduce weather seals to any newer primes... especially the top shelf ones.

I have the FA 31 ltd. It is sublime, and maybe only DC and WR could be added to improve it. If not, it is still great.

Your missing the point. They're the Princesses. If they do anything, they'll replace them; they won't update them.

Pentax is keeping it's cards close. Next week should see an explosion of announcements from all manufacturers.

Indeed, Pentax are going to produce FF limited lenses. I think that's a given. However, at the moment the 3 FA Ltds are a good marketing tool and they have a good solid reputation.

Once Pentax are ready they'll add new DFA Ltds and these ones will have HD coatings, weathersealing and DC motors (probably) - but they won't be 31mm, 43mm or 77mm.

Maybe we'll see wider, wide, normal and tele or something - maybe 22mm, 36mm, 47mm and 82mm (just picking numbers out of the air). But not until the FF line up is more established and the FA Ltds have done their thing at attracting new users.

I'm betting we see the Tamron 35mm 45mm, & 85mm F/1.8 SP lenses either as rebadged K-mounts or with the Tamron badge. I'm hoping for a 24mm F/2.

Tamron is working on a 25mm lens.

It is quite well circulated that lenses from film days are not always best option for digital. Pentax must not take any chance by issuing or re-issuing sub-par lenses for K-1. K-1 is positioned to compete with the best in FF market, the lenses must complement this market position if Pentax wants to be successful. With K-1 now released, Pentax must rapidly follow up with new top optics to keep the momentum going.
