This year was/is supposedly the year of primes. So far we've only officially heard of the 50 and the 85 with asahiman rumor of the 35 too. No WA lenses thus far.

Man I wouldn't wait.. you could be waiting until 2018.. or 2019 realistically for them to arrive.

The Irix 15mm and 11mm recently came out. Also, I believe a WA FF prime from Pentax is roadmapped, but given the unveiling of the 50mm and 85mm I'd expect the WA in future years.

You mean year of the prime. Singular. Ricoh apparently doesn't have the ability to make more than one lens in house every year. We are probably 5 years away from an UWA. It will be announced in 3 years, delayed for a year and delivered in year 5. At least that is how they currently do it.

Of course they can. Anybody can. They just haven't.

If the rumors are correct they've made 100,000 K-1's by now and they'll make another 150000 before the run ends. How many of those people will buy:
  • 150~450 - 10,000?
  • 70~200 - 10,000?
  • 50/1.4 - 5000?
  • 85/1.4 - 2500?
  • 24/xx - 2500?

Two delicious primes could help K-1 to go out faster. 1.4/50 is definitely one of them.
So I think 1.4/50 is the widest prime we'll see for a while — but, do not underestimate the launch of the new crop flagship, because some landmark lens is bound to go with a landmark crop camera.

Many of those lenses will or do sell to APS-C shooters as well. Of the 15 PF user reviews of the DFA 150-450, at least 13 are from APS-C shooters.

Yes, good point, that's because 150-450 is too short on FF (same for Canon 100-400, sold as full frame less but most users use it on crop sensor).
A wide angle prime would sell more exclusively to FF users because there's always a 15ltd for apsc.
I use the 15-30, it's very good, I like the image rendering very much. Downside it size and weight, I had to buy a new bag just for it.

You really think their top selling D-FA is going to be the 2500 USD 150mm-450mm telephoto? The most expensive D-FA available.. I'm not so sure about that happening..

I think they sell the most out of the 28-105 WR followed by the 100 macro and maybe the 24-70. The relation of sales of the zooms to the primes though is probably closer to accurate... with the zooms (in general) outstripping the prime sales similarly.

Ditto. Carrying both the DFA 15-30 and the DFA* 70-200 is quite annoying.

Difficult to buy the D-FA 50 or 85 these days.
Letīs wait for these two lenses before asking for more.

BTW you ruined my day, I thought I was the only one buying a K1. I donīt feel special anymore.

Not to spoil your party, but my guess is that they maybe sold 50.000 K-1 at max. There is no sign of so much sales in the Ricoh financial report.

Show me where K-1 sales volume is a line item in the Ricoh Annual Report.

Show us the rumour of the 100,000 K-1 made so far

(I know the initial monthly production as reported by Ricoh Imaging was 7,000 units)

How many Pentax cameras do we think Ricoh sell in a year? Presumably one could guesstimate K1 sales from that since FF will be a low proportion of the total. 100,000 sounds pretty high for a small outfit, especially since this has occurred in a fairly short space of time. Great if true but it sounds a bit unlikely.

24mm and 35mm primes are the obvious ones, 21mm if they want to be bold and invite comparison with crackers from Zeiss and co. I hope that is what they do want to do. No point in just being me-too.
