Nobody ever asked for that. It isn't even cloud based, it runs locally. its locked into the cloud because that way people will pay for it instead of pirate it.
Have you even used the new Lightroom CC? Lightroom Classic is a local app with connections to the cloud, Lightroom CC is pretty much pointless unless you are using it on the cloud. The $10/month is really for the 20 GB of cloud storage now...The full suite of apps will be in the iOS app store sometime next year...We are rapidly moving to the post PC era.

.
$10/month for only 20GB cloud storage is grossly overpriced.

You can buy 1TB of cloud storage for around that same price from Goggle Drive or DropBox!!!

IMHO Adobe has always been about providing tools for people who are making a lot of money from photography, and then marketing those tools to wannabe's who don't for most of their income. Kind of like Canon making really high end cameras for the best pros, and then making a lot of money selling base level units that are overpriced compared to many competitors.

To me, using what the pros use just means you're paying way too much.

OK what happened???

Good Grief, I missed the original Smug Mug post but I just finished reading through three months of mostly gnashing of teeth and renting of garments posts about the take over and nothing has happened. Even the Smug Mug Dough nuts have disappeared from my Flickr pages and they seem to load even better than before.
So what happened??? Was this the typical PF doom and gloom rearing its ever present ugly head as usual???? Oh wait, its only been about three months.....something bad will happen just wait for it!
