He should have disguised the stuffed anteater for the photo, some sort of wig or false mustache would have sufficed.

If one of the judging criteria was "is this what it looked like at the time?", I'm sure a lot of shots would get filtered out of the competition.
BTW I visited the exhibit when it was in Toronto. I didn't see any Pentax shots making the grade, so that just goes to show how honest we all are!

Tess and I have often wondered what happened to the stuffed coyote one of her previous partners owned. If we start posting a lot of "Coyotes in Algonquin" photos be dubious, be very very dubious.

I don’t about the anteater, but I do know this: if that was a winner, then I want to enter this contest next year. I think I have a shot.

This 2009 disqualification was based on the subject being a trained performing wolf as opposed to a wolf in the wild.

You'd think that there'd be more than enough wildlife photographers who put in the hard yards in hides for days at a time to not allow these people to get so far in a comp.

I have a killer background for a bug but they hate the spot. Maybe i can find a snail on wood to put there but if i go stuffed bug i'd rather use lego batman.
