100th Anniversary next year - what will they release?

Other than possible roadmapped lenses, I should think they must be planning something special to mark the occasion, but, what?

I hope for a compact FF body. Some primes or compact zooms updated with silent fast focusing motors would be great too.

something start with [PENTAX] ... and ended with... [Aniversary Edition]

@LightBug , Yeah, I hope the same for a somewhat compact size FF body and or ... a new set of WR Limited FF primes.

Here’s my bet:

APSc flagship in a totally new platform, to replace the K-7 platform. At sixty years the LX was released. LX is Roman Numerals for sixty. Since Roman Numeral for 100 is C, I bet they designate the APSc platform the ‘C” platform and the first one is the C-10.

That leaves the “K’platform for FF bodies.

I'm guessing the Asahi Optical Co. stickers they've been handing out at CP+ and including in some of the Japanese DFA* 50mm packages have something to do with the Centennial. I'd expect a K-1ii Centennial/Centenary Edition (Platinum?) featuring an engraved AOC logo.

Silver anniversary version of {name of current flagship DSLR here}, or perhaps a special edition of the 645Z.

I'm hoping they do a full Nikon and release a full Silver FF set, aka: A silver K-1ii, silver 15-30mm f2.8, silver 24-70mm f2.8 and silver 70-200mm f2.8. Maybe if they're really feeling up to it they could throw in a silver 50mm f1.4 too.

Only if they figure out how to fit the KP successor in {I'm not sure that the K-n0 line will continue, but I cannot see having C-10 at bottom of line}

I would have said CX, but that’s 110 - IOW Q.

When I noticed the price drop on the 645Z I wondered whether its purpose was to reduce inventory to make room for a successor. I anticipate that if there is a successor, it won't be as "affordable" as the present 645Z is for several years.

The only connection I see between 110 and 'CX' is a particular Kodak film, which was available in all formats at one time.

Pentax Auto 110 - inspired the idea of a tiny MILC.
