Updates for medium format?

Updates for lenses?

1) Why do they not permit end users to purchase parts.
...or at least certify reputable shops to purchase common replacement parts (mounts, body panels, flaps, etc.) for non-warranty repair.

What is Accelerator Chip going to do for me now?

Can we expect new firmware to make updates to what we can do with the Accelerator Chip? It seems that the i/o bandwidth limits within the system (memory etc.) need to be overcome to gain much from this chip. True?

Will K1 II have systematic firmware updates with new features?

Perhaps a variation on the hackneyed employment/performance review interview question: “Where do you see the brand in 5 years time?”

PS – I don’t see the answer being any more useful than in the other interviews, but you never know.

1) what is the finantial condition of Ricoh Imaging?

2) DSLR may be seen as an obsolete technology with declining market share: will Ricoh continue in this direction or mirrorless is the future also for Pentax?

3) any plan to develop in-camera focus stacking?

4) any plan to develop automated lens autofocus calibration?

5) any plan to revamp existing DA* lens with new AF?

6) are there planned lens for Q system?

7) any plan to develop a joint venture with other brands, like Leica, Panasonic and Sigma?

8) Pentax was famous for its compact and lightweight lenses, while the last introductions are bulky and heavy. Is it a consolidated trend?

9) when will we see new bodies and lenses?

I’m truly interested whether there will be further ‘co-development’ projects with Tokina, which they might answer (and of course who did what) which they certainly won’t). The DFA*50, coming after the 70-200, is such a stellar lens one hopes the optical design is 100% Pentax and the costs were shared - rather than Ricoh obtaining skill they don’t have in-House
This is one they answered for us offline. They said design is Pentax-original. They would not comment on whether (or how) the Tokina uses that design.

If Ricoh can give more information about the planned 2019 D FA telephoto zoom lens of around 50-300.

I'd like a zoom with more sharpness and reach than what the various 55-300 ones offer. The 150 - 450 is too heavy and expensive for me.

Video - mechanical IBIS

Hi, I would like to know, what happened to the promises about mechanical IBIS implementation when shooting video on K-1 and KP.
I believe they said back in the day, that this feature will be implemented through a firmware update but it's been a long time since and nothing happened.

Thanks!

About continuation of Q line and already developed macro lens. We still use with pleasure the Q.
But please ask him this time for exact answer.

Any word on the K3 replacement? How about a 645z update or replacement? Any plans for something longer than the 150-450, perhaps the 150-600 rebadged from Tamron? How about an update to the FA LTD lenses? How about something along the lines of a 24-135 f/4 WR? 4K or even higher resolution?

  1. When will we see a successor for the K3
  2. When will we see a successor for the K1 -
    1. with highly improved writing speed to SD-Card
    2. with an massive increased buffer for raws (at least 50 raws)
    3. with an improved high-iso sensor, even with a loss in resolution - to improve the already excellent results of the K1
  3. Will there be a 10-20 mm for the FF market
  4. Is there a possibility for focus bracketing in the future
  5. Can we have a series of lightweight robust high performance zooms lenses, starting from 12 to 300mm with F4 for outdoor and travelling
  6. Teleconverter 1,4 und 2 fach für FF

1) Do they changed the view on video mode in recent time? Many manufacturers implement more or less 4k video mode with decent bitrate and fps - what is Pentax approach to this matter?
2) Do they work with another (than Sony) sensor manufacturer to leap forward in terms of image quality and specs?
3) In terms of AF capabilities in Pentax cameras - are they focusing on one aspect during development (like - AF speed, or more focus points, or AF during video) - could they hint what it is?
4) Lens development in recent years is very slow, is this a matter to improve in the future?
5) Pentax seems to implement the premium brand strategy. Meanwhile, there are lots of budget lenses like DAs 35 and 50 with a old screw drive motor build-in. Are they planning to improve and refresh their offering, releasing the DC versions of such lenses?

You MUST ask this one:

When Ricoh bought Pentax brand some years aog, they sad they wanted to become number one. Now, many years after, the products are great, no question about that, but the release of new products is SLOW and FRUSTRATE the consumers. Why don't Ricoh pulls more money to release more products more quickly? The difference with other brands is incredible; just look at roadmap for Nikon Z and Canon R.... New system but full roadmap for years to come and our Pentax K1 can't release 2 lenses a year.... The same for new lenses for the 645 system (it need a tilt shift at least....).
