Warning note on a hand strap

After a few months with the K-70 I began to think that there might be something more functional than the neck strap. Thinking a wrist strap might be the answer I looked for advice on the forum and was convinced a hand strap might be a better choice. I ordered the IMZ Leather Hand Grip, Beautiful Crafted & Unique Handmade Wrist Strap from amazon. Contrary to the title it is a hand strap. It is very nice, comfortable and does the job UNTIL I tried to attach the shoe to my tripod. Turned out to be substantially wider than the receiver on the Oben BA-113 head. Amazon's description said it fit 99% of tripod heads. So I find I am in the 1%, no, not that 1%.

Looking at Amazon search results I think I found that strap. The head you mention has a non-arca plate that is sturdy looking but probably the culprit.

You could..
1) find an adapter to mount to the existing plate.
2) try swapping the plate for one that fits
3) buy a head that will work with the plate.

if you decide to cut your losses and look at another

I recommend this one:

" Hand strap and universal baseplate for DSLR cameras
Comfortable, lightweight strap conforms to hand for solid grip
UltraFit Layered-Pad Technology™ provides support without bulk
Integrated UltraPlate baseplate is Arca-Swiss compatible
Versatile baseplate includes two 1/4''-20 attachment points
Supports sling strap or other camera accessory "

UltraFit Hand Strap with UltraPlate - DSLR & Mirrorless | JOBY

it is available at several vendors

Uncle V,

The plate was fine just did not fit. The whole thing is in the amazon return mode. I will probably just get another perhaps without the plate, or with the proper one. It seems a nice advantage but I am seldom in a big hurry when using the tripod.

No loss unless Amazon stiffs me on the return. If things do not become clear while aimlessly shopping, a email to B&H will target the proper item although I will complain about the price, I always do.

That's one of the reasons I purchased a hand strap that connected to the lugs on the side of the camera. I have used the same wrist strap from Op/Tech since my Canon days and with three Pentax's without any problems.
