Vintage TV Commercial!

I'm guessing this came out sometime in the '70s(?)

Found this on YouTube recently and thought it would have some appreciation here.
Just for curiousity, can anyone here translate the Japanese symbols or anything else being said besides "PENTAX, PENTAX, PENTAX.." ?

Hope you enjoy!

Can you please modify your thread title to make it clear it's not really a new commercial?

Yep, definitely a click bait title if ever there were. Surely "Vintage Pentax TV Commercial" would draw in the views on this forum. Oh well, fun to watch
but alas I can't help but feel a little disappointed now....

Crotchety? 3 of 4 people who replied said your title was clickbait. If you don't like complaints, don't write misleading things.

That is one way to look at it. :/

Another way is to see the internet as a potential font of valuable information, continually brought down by poorly chosen subject titles, keywords
and search strings, either chosen poorly or intently to deceive. Considering the sheer volume of information out there, accurate and specific
queues to direct the correct audience to the correct content is paramount. And that does include parody, though that does get a little trickier.

If it was your intent to deceive for a bit of personal fun, then mission accomplished. And yet, you're surprised by the response?

Crotchety and damned proud of it.

Thank you FozzFoster for a great insight into yesteryear. And thank you for your obviously genuine post.

Must be what convinced me to be a Pentaxian, though I can't remember seeing it and can't see how I could have - but it's just convinced me all over again

I can't help feeling the world has lost something since those days - including that photography is an innocent pleasure - and fun!!

Do you notice that the little character on the Pentax girl's dress is the same one in the animated video?

Some strange marketing concepts in those commercials, but they were selling a lot of cameras.

Thanks for sharing these ads, FozzFoster and boriscleto! Makes me wonder how many other cool photographic ads I haven't seen. (Camera ads took a turn for the worse when Canon chose Andre Agassi for their poster-boy. . . .)

I'm almost ashamed to say I own a Rebel...but it's a Rebel 2000, way after the "Image is everything" campaign...And I only own it because it was in a lot I bought this year...
