Did Ricoh Imaging hire someone for their Marketing Department?

I was checking my inbox this morning and found an email from Ricoh Imaging regarding Black Friday deals. I've been shooting Pentax for over 4 years and have never received one before. Someone must of explained to them that email is cheap. :-)

Instagram is even cheaper. They actually post on their many accounts quite often, sometimes resharing images, sometimes discounts. But then they go silent for months

I signed up for email years ago. Got a couple in the beginning and nothing since. People have been posting about email from Ricoh (US) in between then. Checked my junk mail boxes - nothing. Seems more an email service problem rather than lack of email

When they don't blast you weekly or daily (or hourly) their messages sure get your attention, don't they?

Surely there must be a happy medium between the two. Too frequent campaign blasts are a sure fire way to cancelled subscriptions or
the spam folder. A once a month newsletter would be ideal, even if it's just to say 'Hello'.

Moved to "Photographic Industry and Professionals" as this is neither news or rumour.

FYI, computer security/privacy comment: the 2 long links you shared include codes that identify you. Clicking the link tells marketing databases that you read the email. Sharing the link helps them connect your PF account to your email address. It lets companies and governments track your activity.

My general practice is to never click links with encrypted data nor share them. You might want to consider doing the same. #Tinfoilhat

I was hoping that I would have heard about a Pentax black Friday deal as I'm in the market for a 100mm. nothing as yet.

The DFA 100mm WR is marked way down at B&H Photo. $377 is pretty good price.
