The forgotten and found resolution on dpr

Hi friends,

I don’t know anybody noticed ... over there at dpr, new years resolutions were posted but not for Pentax As Jordan pointed out today, it was by mistake.

Here is an unlisted! youtube video from dpr tv about new years resolutions for Pentax, narrated by Chris. Enjoy

According to Pentax fans having stated on PF that they hate EVF, adding an EVF to a Pentax would result in a major business failure.

Agreed. We have had threads rubbish the idea of a digital film body with OVF too, so if we won't by it and DPR viewers wouldn't then it's a dead end. Maybe just trolling then?

very polemic, but I guess that's the state of any discussion now...
Some people have stated they still prefer OVF over EVF. The group of these may be larger at PF, naturally, as people who prefer EVF might have been so clever to choose a camera system that suits their needs in this regard and don't see any value in complaining in fora dedicated to systems that don't.
I find Barneys comment, "and see where this would bring you..." a nice summary of their attitude. Which is exactly that, an attitude and it might be increasingly visible at any action at dpr. The ignorance of the DA* 11-18 is just one thing and might just express where it has "brought them". Silly company, not listening to the experts, or influencers, or influential experts, influenced experts?

It doesn't matter what Pentax, Sony, Canon, Nikon, or whoever comes up with...they will never make everyone happy. As simple as that.

I sure love the pentaprism-based bright viewfinder, but would the adaptation to an EVF be that hard? There are lots of features to keep. Failure sounds a bit heavy...

As I mentioned on the Amazon's DPR site, They're there to sell cameras and will give Free Press to the best selling Brands. I think that post lasted 10 minutes before it was pulled. Amazon's DPR is good for specs and pretty pictures but it's probably best to buy from a Real camera store when choosing Pentax.

Hhhmmmm. Not sure what I think of it other than not worth thinking too hard about.

I think the problem would be Pentax users generally disliking an EVF, and non-Pentax users not being interested in buying a Pentax. There simply might not be enough existing Pentaxians + new Pentaxians to support a bare-bones EVF model.

There is a certain masochism in producing content and then 'forgetting' to put it up. And yet they have repeatedly 'forgotten' or 'shelved'
Pentax content. Do they 'forget' Sony articles? Are they just hedging their bets in case Pentax drops a bombshell? One can even imagine
multiple takes being made, with 'Pro Pentax', 'Neutral Pentax' and 'Bash Pentax' variants for each article being written. The DPR staff really
should quit journalism, (they're not that good at it), and go straight into politics.

Totally listless and lacking in substance and understanding. Seriously, if that is the most ingenious they managed to come up with, they should have dropped it altogether. Acting as if there was nothing remotely innovative to be expected from anything Pentax in the future and then exhorting Pentaxians to show a little sense of humour. That's how you diss people for whom you no longer have any respect at all. Pathetic and such a waste of time.

Pentax bashing has been an open sport on DPR for a very long time, nothing new there. What is truly pathetic is that they won't own up
to it, like a three years old getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar and denying guilt.
