Expect more news from camera makers in the next few days. They will just have to announce and show new product images + everything online now.

Due to CoronaVirus, CP+ 2020 Yokahama has been cancelled.

CP+2020 CAMERA & PHOTO IMAGING SHOW 2020

So Ricoh will have to find other ways to announce any new products planned for CP+ this year.

I don't think Ricoh has much of a history of timing announcements to coincide with trade shows. They will continue to do so when they are ready

With 218 people infected by Corona Virus on the 'Diamond Princess' cruise ship, currently docked in Yokohama, it was no surprise that CP+ would be cancelled. Yokohama public health officials are probably the most anxious people in Japan at the moment:

It makes sense when the object of the show is to let consumers actually handle the product. But still, I guess we can expect more of this.

I did a little spreadsheet to track the total number of coronavirus deaths, day to day, to get a feel for the success of control efforts. I assumed that the claimed mortality rate of 2 per cent would remain constant. At the start, total deaths were increasing by a factor of 1.19 per day. Over the last week that has fallen to 1.13 per day. Hopefully that is an indication that the spread is being contained.

I would be happy to organise it here in Goolwa. With the 27 people likely to attend the risk would be more managable. Most international people would end up in Gawler anyhow.
