The DoF bracketing would be the only one even mildly of interest.
It is the GRIII focus modes that puzzle me. SNAP and INFINITY are not possible with any current model Pentax SLR lens. Something is bogus here.

I don’t think even you yourself would view would take this view if you had.
I'm not sure how you understood my post. I'm clearly saying that ISO 819200 is unusable, not that a camera that goes to 819200 is or that it is in any way reflective of rest of the camera.

I do not need to own a camera to be able to see from samples that a given iso value is utterly useless.

It becomes pretty obvious if you look at the reviews both here and e.g. dpreview. K-1 II at 819200 is as the AVGN would say "what the f*** were they thinking.

The camera is just trying to amplify the signal to the point where it is just 90% noise, 10% signal..

You heard it here first, folks, stevebrot has forthtold the coming of new Pentax camera lenses capable of SNAP and INFINITY!
This rumour oughta make it to the front page of PentaxRumors and accepted as fact soon, amirite?

The OP did not pass judgement regarding ISO 819200. It was a downstream comment from another user.
So the previous comments about it being unusable were correct

Hi,

Did you already mention that the next APS-C will be called K-3 Mark III?

And that will support:
  • ISO1600000
  • 4K in 24/30/60p (I don't know if only in Interval Movie mode...)
  • 1/25000 electronic shutter time
  • Exposure compensation to +8 / -8
  • Focus modes from GR III like SNAP and INFINITY
  • DOF bracketing
  • Highlight emphasis metering mode
  • 2 cards slots
Rubbish without a source. Sorry

Or as I often said, high ISO is a way to turn a really compelling subject into a really bad image.

I do not think the camera will be called the K3 III. More likely they will call it the K2 or K0 or KZ or something not used before.

You mean the highlight correction mode ? Where you loose 1Ev...
I think it was GRIII's highlight weighted metering which was meant.

They've ran out of a logical continuation of their naming. Makes perfect sense to call the ff field camera K-1 in all coming iterations. Likewise with the fast apsc being K-3. Feels more suitable for the urban/travel/docu KP style cameras to have letter based names they could also have more odd names as they are more unique.

Well if it is mentioned, and there would be reason to believe that this is true, that 4K with video would give good possibility of good buffer /read out too?

Other than 1,6 M ISO it seems combination of several cameras, like theta and GR and Pentax.

I suppose this could be actual rumour. It is just that at this point this suffers similar sympton as there is from story of Peter and the wolf.
