Good to see someone in digital cameras doing well, especially when I use their gear.

Yes. At times, I like to have my favorite brands successful and very profitable. At the same time, I have this belief that if a brand is very successful for their shareholders, chances are I paid too much for their product relative to real value. For instance, Canon have long been market share leader, but I never expected from Canon mid-range and low end cameras to be other than cheap plastic, and my experience of handling Canon perfectly explained why Canon was the market leader in quantities sold. Canon were so successful than the cost of repair of most Canon model was actually higher than the cost of a new camera, if I returned a camera for repair, they'd just give me a new one.

Fuji Imaging Solutions:
  • In the Imaging Solutions segment, consolidated revenue amounted to 218.6 billion (down 17.9% year-over-year).
  • Consolidated operating income amounted to 14.1 billion (down 48.5% year-over-year).
Fuji shrinks together with the market.
Losing half of your annual profits versus last year is bad. Really bad.

^ The situation is improving quarter after quarter:
  • Q1: operating loss
  • Q2: 84% YoY decrease in operating profit
  • Q3: 6% YoY decrease in operating profit

The Imaging Solutions segment recorded a year-over-year decline in revenue primarily due to the impact of COVID-19, but sales are recovering steadily, as demonstrated by a year-over-year increase in sales of instant photo systems in the third quarter.

Operating margin for the third quarter recovered to the same level as last year, allowing operating income for the 9 months to return to being in the black.

Halving of profit is disturbing.

Fingers crossed for the company!

Fuji is a highly profitable company, the imagining division is somewhere around 12% of the whole of the company.

The other divisions are doing well.

They were involved with developing a Covid vaccine, not sure how that's gone.

The photographic products are progressing nicely.

I think Fuji has done a phenomenal job. Fuji stopped making ILCs for several years and its not until the X-Pro 1 that they got back into the business and launched a new system and then launched the GFX system. Given how much they have accomplished and how far they have come in less than 10 years.... Yeah they are doing a great job. I hope they keep pushing the limits. That 100s for under $6,000 is amazing.

Apsc and Super FF has a big differentiation, then theres the models available within the sensor sizes. They are unique.

The fact that they do the surveys and put on the summits, its a great interaction with the consumer.
