Tamron K-mount Lenses Discontinued

Not exactly sure where to out this, so I figured this is the best place to put it.

So, I went to go look at the Tamron lenses in Kmount on B&H right now and saw that there was no lenses available in K-mount, so I clicked on the link for the 28-75mm f2.8 from here on the forums and when it goes to the B&H page it says its discontinued.

We're doomed. Except for the quadzillion lenses out there that will be useful long after you and me are long dead. Just bought a Tamron 17-35 for a K1-II, works well. Also a Tamron 70 -200 for the same body.

But far worse, bought a Pentax FA 135 2.8 that hasn't been made been made in 21 years! Pentax no longer makes a Full Fame 135 2.8! We're doomed!

And my 14 year old 28-75? It works but we're DOOMED!

Ahhh ok, didnt know they discontinued it that long ago.

A couple weeks ago B&H showed they still had lenses in stock still, then last week they were showing "waiting for more", and just recently showing "Discontinued". :/

So I guess now Tamron's zoom & prime "Current lenses" should all be moved to "Legacy lenses" now that theyre no longer being sold new?

I guess B&H were waiting till they sold off their last stock of lenses before they switched them to "Discontinued"

We can only get new Tamron lenses if they say Pentax on them.

It's not surprising.
Tamron, Sigma and Tokina are moving to mirrorless, I don't expect them to release new DSLR lenses. We have to get used with Laowa&co being the only 3rd-party choices.

That list does not tell you what of those lenses are for Pentax K mount.

Some are specified by mount, if it doesn’t show the mount, I would assume all mounts are discontinued, so if there was a Pentax mount it was discontinued. But, yes it does not list all the mounts produced.

I could not see any that specified K mount anyway Its a shame Tamron makes some nice lenses.

The 28-75 was probably discontinued to sell more 24-70/2.8s. I imagine both Tamron and Pentax would be more than happy to get rid of the only older model that could compete with the new one.

As far as I know they do still make some K-mount lenses though, not like Sigma.

It pretty much says they don't make any more lenses for Pentax at all that is the point of the whole post.

That is a strange statement. Sigma USA current product for Pentax includes three EX series, three "Art" series, and two "Contemporary" series lenses (all well-regarded). I had a hard time pinning down actual Tamron offerings, but near as I can tell, the 17-50/2.8 is the sole remaining in Pentax-K.
