Thats true to a certain extent. However, there are limits... Lets say "James Crappy" decided to start a photo studio... "Crappy Photography" doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence, regardless of how memorable the name is...

Thanks Mike I needed that laugh

I recall saying to someone, right back at the beginning of the web, that whoever bought up a bunch of popular domain names and held onto them could become rich.

The entrepreneur who purchased all the .TV domain from the Tuvalu islanders took this to the ultimate.

Just another great idea I did not personally have the stomach for.

Yeah, it's a good business. But cybersquatting is illegal in France.
Every person who buys a domain to resell it will loose in court.

But the huge squatters are in the USA, so it will be kinda difficult.
And they have money, I don't. So I won't take the risk to loose
a huge amount of money by dragging them to court.
And they buyed it a long time before my business started: something else to take in account.
I have the solution for this, and if the one I want will be released one day, I'll go for it.
Patient must the padawan be.

Cybersquatting should be prohibited all over the world. Small start-ups don't have 3000$ to spend on a domain name..

I'm glad you liked some of those names. I've been naming businesses since I was in secondary school. I just get into a groove, generating names. Naming things is easy. It's much easier than actually DOING things. My shortcoming, alas...

What's in a name, et cetera.

Oh yes, about sex. The story is told in marketing classes of some genius of a used car dealer, I believe in the midwestern USA in the late 1940's, who looked at the layout of an advertisement he was about to post in a local newspaper. Just a picture of his dealership, some words about a few cars, his location and phone number, that sort of stuff. Then, inspiration struck. He pulled out a black pen and thickly wrote SEX SEX SEX SEX SEX SEX all over the blank areas in the ad layout. The newspaper printed it. The dealership was SWAMPED with customers; every car sold. And thus we learn that even without pictures, SEX SELLS!!

Update long after start of this thread.
The way is longer than I thought because I can get some sponsoring from the government.
And for this , I needed to do some training ( accounting, communication, etc..)

So normally the company should be up and running in 2011, finally.
Hooray!

And lucky for me, I also improved a lot!
