Is there a typo? How can it be $699 with the kit lens?

Getting close to what interests me, now, just give me an EVF that works well with manual focus.

I see something new:
1. Prime M processor
2. Full HD 1080p video capture at 30 FPS with h.264 compression (60 FPS at 720p) features shutter speed and aperture exposure control, video autofocus control
3. 81 AF points
4. No PEF
5. Focus Peaking

12-bit RAW, that's downgrade from k-5 even though it claims to use k-5 sensor.

The kit price is 699 euros, not $699. Over in the US this translates to $899.

Body-only is less than the Q at $749.

Even in euros, it's still a very good price

The specs look good for video. But they've removed a LOT of the functionality from the K-5 for photographs.

So the wait is over!!!
Although the K-01 lacks a viewfinder, it's a temptation for the price.
It is indeed an industry first, and I am glad it's a Pentax!
Let's wait for the reviews and see the comparison with K-5 and K-r (which may have a successor released soon, maybe this year, no?)

This is basically a castrated K-5. They made a mirrorless for the sake of making a mirrorless and were very careful that it does not cannibalize the sales of DSLRs. I don't see any single reason why K-5 owners - and that would be a huge portion of the targetted K-mount lens owning population - would want to purchase one of these.

Fail :P
